OUR PRODUCT:

THE BUZZBOX

01 / INNOVATIVE

You've heard of video games, audio games, and maybe even tactile based games. But have you ever heard of an audio and tactile based video game? A console that allows you to play video games without the need to use any screen whatsoever, and instead requires you to use your senses of hearing and touch? We at Immersia present to you: the Buzzbox; the innovative audio and tactile based gaming console.

02 / INCLUSIVE

In accordance with our motto "Playing Different, Not Feeling Different" and our dedication to inclusion, the Buzzbox is a product designed to help make the visually impaired feel less excluded when it comes to playing video games as it contains no visual components. However, it is also designed to be enjoyed and played by anyone looking to either increase their spatial awareness, or just try out a fun new method of gaming.

03 / EASY

Our simple and sleek design makes our console easy to learn and use. With game instructions provided for each game loaded on to the console included in three formats: printed, braille and embedded audio.

The portable box is completely battery operated, using a standard alkaline 9V battery which can be easily changed using the  battery compartment at the bottom.

Video Games; a beloved part of many people’s childhood, but what happens if you aren’t able to utilize the most crucial part: the screen? How do you play a video game if you can’t see what’s going on?

This is why we at Immersia came up with the Buzzbox  an innovative audio and tactile based handheld video game console that looks to transform the current definition of video games altogether.

The box comes pre-loaded with our embedded game: Maze Escape, which can be tested out on Phase I of our product, the Immersia Gaming page here on our website, alongside various other games that could be loaded onto the console in the future.

The console itself is Phase II of our product. the way it works is that the user uses the joystick attached to one half of the console in order to navigate themselves through the maze game encoded within the console, however they are unable to see the maze itself. The second half of the console is flat and contains an embedded motor grid designed to vibrate specific motors based on where the individual is in the maze. There will also be sound cues, such as a ‘ping’ noise when they hit a wall and an echo-locator noise that changes in frequency and pitch in correspondence to how far away an enemy or treasure in the maze is.
